Induction Loops
Induction loop systems (or to give them their full name: Audio Frequency
Induction Loop Systems - AFILS) are used to assist the hearing impaired by
transmitting amplified sound, i.e., music, speech, etc, to hearing aids fitted
with a telecoil. (NHS and most other third party hearing aids are fitted with
telecoils.) Demand for AFILS is increasing due to new legislation aimed at
preventing discrimination against disabled people (DDA).
